Most states, including Texas, require the drivers to have car insurance. But unfortunately, some people are going to drive without it. That's why information about uninsured motorist coverage is so important.
Now, you may have heard of uninsured motorist coverage. Usually insurance agents are going to offer this as an addition to your policy. It's a coverage that comes into play when you've been hit by an uninsured driver. If you don't already have it, we recommend that you go get it as soon as possible, because it could make a big difference.
Here's an example of how: if someone without insurance hits you, and you're seriously injured, those medical expenses, those lost wages, that's going to be your responsibility, unless you had uninsured motorist coverage. Having that additional coverage is going to give you peace of mind, like when two of our clients were hit by an uninsured drunk driver. Thankfully, they had uninsured motorist coverage, and that allowed them to pay for the medical treatment that they needed to move forward and get back on their feet.
