You called the lawyer about a personal injury case involving you or a loved one. They declined your case or referred you to another lawyer. And you may be sitting there wondering why. Here are a few common reasons:

First, it just may not be in their wheelhouse. For example, you have a car wreck case, but you are recommended a lawyer that only does family law. They're just not going to be well suited to handle that car wreck personal injury case.

Now, one of the most common reasons why the lawyer may decline your case is because you're too close to the statute of limitations. Wondering what that is? The statute of limitations is the deadline that you have to file your claim or your lawsuit, or otherwise your claim is going to be barred forever. Now, many lawyers won't take it if it gets too close, which is why it's so important that you get to an attorney sooner rather than later.

Now, a reason you might be referred is your case is too complex, or your damages are too catastrophic, and that type of case is better suited with a lawyer that has the experience in handling those types of cases. For example, some of the cases that are referred to us from other lawyers: maybe like a complex trucking case. It may be referred out from a lawyer that only does fender bender types of cases. But because of the seriousness and complexities involved, we may be better suited to handle that complex trucking case.

Other types are daycare cases. Not many lawyers around the country handle these. State regulations, insurance issues, serious injuries to children: those are just some of the things that make these cases unique. However, it's one of the main areas that our team has a passion for.

When your case was declined, you may not have been given a reason why. You feel you have a serious case, but the lawyers that you've talked to aren't listening. Unfortunately, it could be as simple as they don't want to, or they can't put in the work to get to the bottom of your case.

You can always give us a call or shoot us an email. All consultations with our team are free.
