I have wanted to be a lawyer since I was five-years-old. Due to the negligence of another, my baby brother lost his life, and my family lost a son and a brother. Fortunately, my family found a very honest, hard working, and compassionate lawyer to help. One of my most vivid memories from my childhood is a visit to our lawyer’s office. I remember asking my Mom who this man was. My mother’s response was, “he is our lawyer and he is here to help us.” I remember her thanking our lawyer over and over again for all that he did for our family. At the young age of five, I did not understand what he did or how he did it. I certainly did not know what a “lawyer” was. All I knew was that I wanted to be him when I grew up because he was my family’s superhero. Since that day, I have had one goal- be a lawyer.
If I had a dime for every time a person asked me why I became an attorney, I would be a millionaire… yet I would still be an attorney. I believe there are few professions in society that give a person the chance to truly change someone’s life for the better- a lawyer is one of them. Lawyers are super heroes.
My journey in life led me to the great State of Texas. I was born and raised in South Florida. I received my undergraduate degree in Political Science with a concentration in American Political Theory from Florida International University in Miami, Florida. During my time in college, I worked full-time for a plaintiff’s personal injury law firm as a case manager and paralegal, while attending school at night. I learned what hard work, time management skills, and a lot of passion can do for a person.
I graduated cum laude from Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center with my Juris Doctor degree and Graduate Diploma in Comparative Law. During my time in law school, I participated in several Law Clinic programs that allowed me to represent clients while still completing my law degree. I have spent my entire legal career representing plaintiffs in all types of civil litigation. I wake up every day hoping to use my legal education to be someone’s superhero.
Outside of being a lawyer, I make sure to spend as much time as I can with my family and my two Weimaraners- Nola and Austin. I am often traveling back and forth to Miami to see my family and enjoy the beach. I love watching my Miami Marlins play baseball and spending as much time outdoors as possible. I enjoy kayaking, hiking, camping and floating the gorgeous Texas rivers.
