The best way to get to know me is to know why I do what I do. When I was five-years-old, my family experienced a terrible tragedy. My brothers Matthew and Andrew were born, but as the result of medical negligence, my brother Matthew passed away just a couple of days after birth. My brother Andrew lived 20 years with severe physical and mental disabilities, passing away while I was in law school.
Fortunately, my family found a very honest, passionate, and caring lawyer to help us. I remember the very moment I decided I would be a trial lawyer - it was the moment I heard my Dad thanking our lawyer while on the verge of tears, over and over, for what he was doing for our family. I didn’t know what a “lawyer” was, but I decided at that moment that I was going to be a lawyer.
That lawyer was my family’s superhero.
I believe that a lawyer is among those professions in society that give a person the chance to truly change someone’s life for the better. Lawyers can be someone’s superhero.
I was born and raised in South Florida, but my journey in life eventually brought me to the great State of Texas. I received my undergraduate degree in Political Science from Florida International University in Miami, Florida. I worked full-time for a plaintiff’s personal injury firm as a case manager and paralegal while attending college at night. I learned what hard work, time management skills, and a lot of passion can do for a person.
I graduated cum laude from Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center with my Juris Doctor and Graduate Diploma in Comparative Law.
My role on The Button Law Firm Team is as a litigation attorney. I am located in Houston because our firm handles cases all over Texas. I handle all of our investigations and am involved in every case with Russell.
I have two dogs that mean the world to me - two Weimaraners named Nola and Austin (after two of my favorite cities). I enjoy traveling to Miami to spend time on the beach with family and friends. Sports are a huge part of my life. I am an avid Miami Marlins and Houston Astros fan, and I spend as many fall Saturdays as I can manage watching the LSU Tigers play in Baton Rouge! Geaux Tigers!
