My path to The Button Law Firm and the legal profession is a personal one. It started with my own experience with BLF, after one of my children was a victim of negligence at a daycare. Through that horrible experience, I discovered a yearning to do something more by helping families who have faced similar experiences.

The Button Law Firm is near and dear to my family’s heart because they are the ones who helped us seek justice during our childcare negligence case and inspired me to begin my law school journey. We have stayed connected over the years, and I knew from the start that it was a team I wanted to be a part of. When Russell reached out to me earlier this year to see if I was interested in joining the team, the timing could not have been more perfect—it was a no-brainer!

At the firm, I will serve as a law clerk and student attorney, handling client intake, public records requests for client case files and assisting the team with whatever is needed to keep cases moving forward.

Before joining the BLF family, I served in the United States Army as a military police officer. Following my active-duty service, I worked for the Department of Defense in Europe processing national crime records and performing background checks.

After returning state-side, I joined the University of Texas at Dallas, where I worked for 15 years. I worked within the Department of Alumni Relations Office as the Director of University Events. Up until the start of law school, I was a group exercise instructor at the University for over a decade.

I am originally from Okeechobee, FL, but as a child, I changed schools 13 times. Mostly, I lived in and around southcentral Florida and in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. I’ve also lived in North Carolina, Germany, and Kosovo.

When I am not juggling family, work, and law school, I enjoy kicking boxing, indoor cycling, making decorative cakes, going to the gun range, and hiking. But above all, I mostly enjoy a good movie night on the couch snuggled up with the family.

I am married to my wonderful husband of nearly 10 years, Ben. We have three children—Aiden, Annlee, and Ryen —and a dog named Punkin.
