Whether you were visiting Texas or here on work, you had a right to be here. While here, you were involved in a car wreck that you did not expect. The other driver was at-fault and now you don't know what to do.
Can You Have A Case If You Don't Live Here?
Yes. You can have a case if you are not a Texas resident but were involved in a car wreck while here.
I'm Hurt. Can I Go To My Local Doctor Out-Of-State?
Yes. You need to go to your doctor and complete all the recommended medical treatment to try to recover from your injuries. You do not have to go to a doctor in the State that your wreck happened in. What you need to be focused on is getting better and recovering, if possible.
Does Anything Change?
The only thing that changes in how we handle cases where I clients live in another State is we use phone calls, video conferencing, and email a lot more frequently. We still visit them in person, but it is not as frequent as we would when you live in Texas. We have found this doesn't impact our representation of you because I travel frequently and will always make sure to be in-person with you when the situation arises.
If the need arises, I hire local counsel to help assist me with local matters because they know your area better than I do. Essentially, we do whatever is necessary to make sure you have the best representation possible and your car wreck claim is handled just like we handle all of our cases here at The Button Law Firm.
Do You Handle Cases Where The Injured Party Doesn't Live In Texas?
Yes. We frequently handle cases where the wreck happened in Dallas/Fort Worth or Midland/West Texas, but the injured party lives in another State. I have local contacts in most every State in the country to help assist me with anything I need near a client that lives out-of-state.
