From Law School Graduate to Licensed Attorney
In June 2024, I had just crossed two major milestones: graduating from law school and celebrating my second anniversary at The Button Law Firm. Fast forward 12 months, and I’m proud to say I’ve officially passed the bar and fully stepped into my role as an attorney. Looking back, this past year has been one of the most transformative and rewarding chapters of my life, personally and professionally.
A New Season of Focus and Family
Finishing law school and becoming a licensed attorney was a huge accomplishment, especially after four years of balancing work, family life, and studies. For the first time in years, I’ve been able to focus on my role here at BLF, and more importantly, be truly present for my family. That shift has been such a gift. Whether tackling complex cases or enjoying everyday moments with my husband and kids, I’m learning to embrace the rhythm of this new season with gratitude and energy.
Growing Through Mentorship at The Button Law Firm
One of the biggest contributors to my growth this year has been the incredible mentorship and support I’ve received at The Button Law Firm. As I celebrate my third year with the team, I’m especially thankful for Russell and Ashley's leadership. From day one, they’ve been intentional about investing in my development, not just as a lawyer, but as a person. Whether it’s through structured training or one-on-one role-playing to sharpen my litigation skills, their guidance has helped me step into the attorney I’ve always hoped to become.
That kind of mentorship is rare. It’s not just about teaching—it’s about creating space for growth, pushing you to be better, and celebrating your wins along the way. I’ve felt that at every step here, and I know I wouldn’t be where I am without it.
Family Milestones and Meaningful Moments
Outside of work, this year has also been rich with family milestones. I traveled to Florida in January for our first family reunion since childhood. Reconnecting with relatives, sharing stories, and exploring our family history was powerful—it reminded me just how important those connections are.
And the meaningful family moments didn’t stop there. My daughter, Annlee, was baptized by her older brother, Aiden, who’s currently interning in ministry and discipleship. It was a special moment for our family, one I’ll always treasure. We’re also gearing up for another memory-maker this month: a “Ladies’ Cruise” to celebrate Annlee’s 12th birthday with all the women on my husband’s side of the family. After years of juggling so many responsibilities, being able to soak up these experiences with my daughter is something I don’t take for granted.
Looking Ahead with Purpose and Gratitude
Now, one year after passing the bar, I feel more grounded than ever in my purpose. I’m energized by the work I get to do at BLF, honored by the trust our clients place in us, and deeply grateful for the support of my families—both at home and at the firm. Every case, every client, and every challenge fuels my drive to keep growing and showing up as the best version of myself.
To all the families we’ve helped and those we’ve yet to meet, thank you for believing in me. Your trust means everything, and I’m committed to fighting for you with everything I’ve got.
The best is truly yet to come.
