HOUSTON, TX – The Button Law Firm has filed a lawsuit against Firefly Dual Language Academy after a young boy was found alone in one of the daycare’s vans. The lawsuit has been filed on behalf of Houston mom, Maria Jimenez. In February of 2023, the young child was transported from a local public school to the daycare for an after-school program. However, according to the complaint, the daycare left the little boy in the van for three hours and tried to cover up the incident when they realized what happened.
What Happened at This Houston Texas Daycare?
When Maria Jimenez came to pick her son up from daycare, the workers told her they “must not have picked up [her son] from his public school, which released children three hours prior.” They continued providing additional false information, saying they found her son asleep at the daycare facility.
It wasn’t until Jimenez arrived home with her son that she learned the truth. Her son told her he was not left alone in a restroom but was left alone in a daycare van.
When the young boy’s mom confronted the daycare about the incident, Firefly Dual Language Academy offered her money to sweep the incident under the rug.

How The Button Law Firm is Working to Help This Houston Family Get Justice for After a Daycare Injury
The Button Law Firm’s team of experienced attorneys is working to help get this mom and her son justice after he was blatantly neglected by his daycare and caregivers. Unfortunately, incidents like this one happen all too often.
Children are often left in daycare vans due to caregiver negligence. Usually, this happens when they fail to follow procedures to ensure all children are properly accounted for. This can result in serious injury or even wrongful death. For example, if a daycare leaves a child in a van on a scorching hot or freezing cold day, the child can suffer serious injuries due to temperature.
This is a serious issue, and The Button Law Firm will continue to work to get this family justice and prevent it from happening to more kids in the future.

An attorney who helps families move forward after a daycare incident may be able to help you and your loved ones get justice.
