SAN ANTONIO, TX – According to What News4SA Reported About the San Antonio Explosions
News4SA reported that emergency crews responded to a house explosion along Preston Hollow Drive shortly after 6 p.m. A second explosion occurred around 8 p.m. while firefighters and media were still on scene.
Five people were hospitalized, including a child who remains in critical condition. Officials confirmed that at least three of the injuries are life-threatening.
Authorities have indicated that a natural gas buildup was the likely cause. CPS Energy identified the source of the leak, while investigators—including the National Transportation Safety Board—continue working to determine how the gas accumulated.
Fire officials warned that while natural gas is typically detectable by smell, there are rare but dangerous situations where that warning sign can disappear—allowing gas to build without detection.
