In February, The Button Law Firm hosted its second annual appreciation event — an evening dedicated to celebrating the people who have shaped BLF into what it is today.
Friends, family, team members, attorneys, and, for the first time, several former clients gathered together to reconnect, share stories, and reflect on the relationships that define our core value: Family & Team.
Throughout the evening, one theme stood out clearly — this firm has always been about more than the work. It has always been about the people.
A Story That Says Everything
During her remarks, Ashley shared a story that captured that idea perfectly.
Years ago, early in a case, Ashley and Russell visited a client at her home. They sat at her kitchen table, met her children, and listened closely as the family shared what they were going through.
During that visit, her son talked about his dream of becoming a physical therapist.
Now, years later, that same client invited Ashley and Russell to attend her son’s upcoming white coat ceremony — a major milestone marking the next step toward that dream.
Ashley also shared something the client told her when the case came to an end.
“After everything she had been through,” Ashley said, “she told me she was actually sad that the lawsuit was over — because it meant she wouldn’t get to see our team as much.”
Ashley paused before adding, “That’s when you realize the relationship became so much more. We will be family for life.”
The People Behind BLF
Later in the evening, Russell reflected on the people who make moments like that possible.
He shared that five groups have helped shape The Button Law Firm into what it is today.
First, Ashley.
“She has been there since day one,” Russell said. “None of this would exist without her belief in what we were building.”
Second, the BLF team.
“Our team pours their hearts into this work every single day,” he said. “They care deeply about the families we represent and about each other.”
Third, the attorneys who trust the firm and believe in the work being done here.
Fourth, the friends and family members who support the BLF team behind the scenes.
And finally, one of the most important groups of all — the clients who trust the firm during some of the most difficult chapters of their lives.
More Than a Celebration
Looking around the room that night, it was clear that all five of those groups were present. Not separately, but together — connected by shared experiences, trust, and relationships that extend far beyond a single case.
What started as a celebration of the firm’s 10-year milestone is quickly becoming one of our favorite traditions.
Because moments like this are a reminder that The Button Law Firm is about more than the work we do.
It’s about the people we do it for and the relationships that last long after a case ends.
And if you’ve been part of this journey in any way — as a client, a team member, or someone who supports what we do — you will always be part of the BLF family.
