Russell and Ashley celebrating boss's dayThanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday—not because of the food, but because it allows us to connect, reflect, and truly appreciate those around us. At The Button Law Firm (BLF), that spirit of gratitude has taken on a special significance, as this year has been one of incredible growth, resilience, and connection for our team.

I’m grateful for how we have shown up for one another and our clients with a commitment to making a meaningful difference together. Reflecting on this past year, I’m in awe of the milestones we’ve achieved and the challenges we’ve tackled as a team. From overcoming obstacles to adding new team members, we’ve proven we can accomplish anything when we work together.

Family and Team at The Button Law Firm

Our team’s unwavering support and dedication make BLF feel like a true family—a place where each member brings their unique strengths and where every contribution matters deeply. One of my most memorable moments was in April when I married my longtime girlfriend, Sammy, surrounded by friends and my BLF family. Every team member at BLF is a part of my life, and having them there underscored just how much we mean to one another.

This year has also challenged us in new, creative ways. Together, we’ve tackled difficult cases, strengthened our bonds, and found innovative approaches to better serve our clients and grow as a firm.

Our quarterly team events have become highlights, whether it’s a potluck or a friendly game of mini-golf at Puttshack. These moments aren’t just fun; they deepen our connections and celebrate the successes we’ve achieved together.

Staying Present in Difficult Times

Of course, our work can be emotionally challenging. I’ll never forget a Thanksgiving a few years ago when I got a call about a close family friend whose coworker’s family had been hit head-on by a drunk driver. It was one of the most tragic situations I’ve ever dealt with, especially on a day meant for family and gratitude. Cristina and I jumped into action the day after Thanksgiving, ensuring the family had the support they needed. It was a stark reminder to stay present and cherish our time with loved ones.

While many wait until New Year’s to set goals, Thanksgiving is the perfect moment for me to look back on the year, recognize the victories and challenges, and plan to finish strong. I’m thankful for our team’s growth, our clients’ trust, and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in our community. As we head into the final stretch of the year, I’m excited for what’s to come and the growth we’ll experience together.
