One of those invaluable people is Erika, our incredible Administrative Assistant.
Since joining BLF, Erika has become an essential part of our daily rhythm. She’s often the first friendly voice our clients hear on the phone, the organizer who keeps our schedules aligned, and the steady presence making sure each day runs smoothly. Erika approaches each task with patience, positivity, and a solutions-focused mindset.
Her ability to balance efficiency with empathy makes a huge difference—not just for our attorneys and staff, but for the families we serve. “I love understanding how the legal system can protect families,” Erika says. “It’s empowering to be part of a team that’s making a real impact.”
Building a Strong Foundation
Before joining The Button Law Firm, Erika gained valuable experience working at an immigration law firm. That role gave her a strong foundation in legal support work and sparked her passion for helping families navigate complex legal systems. Transitioning to BLF brought new challenges and opportunities for growth, but Erika welcomed them with her usual energy and determination.
What drew her most to The Button Law Firm was the sense of purpose she felt from day one. “It’s not just about doing your job and going home,” she explains. “Here, everyone contributes to something bigger, and we support each other every step of the way.”
Erika values and actively contributes to that spirit of collaboration. Her positivity and steady presence set the tone for the rest of the team, making the office a place where everyone feels supported and encouraged.
Life Outside the Office
When the workday is over, Erika’s focus shifts to her two beloved dogs, Mocha and Chica. Mocha, her energetic Australian Shepherd, keeps her busy with long walks and plenty of playtime. Chica, her 14-year-old Pomeranian, prefers naps on freshly folded laundry, adding a touch of calm balance to the household.
Outside of her time with her dogs, Erika enjoys video games, catching up on her favorite shows, and recharging at home. Her hobbies give her a chance to unwind while staying grounded—something she believes is essential to maintaining a positive outlook.
A fun fact about Erika is that she’s fluent in Spanish, a skill she learned from her mom and grandparents. She brings this gift to her work at BLF, helping Spanish-speaking families feel comfortable, seen, and understood. For many of our clients, being able to communicate in their native language makes an already difficult process feel just a little easier, and Erika’s warmth bridges that gap beautifully.
