Growing up in Dallas, Ayissa was surrounded by the warmth, connection, and community that would later define her approach to life and work. After earning her degree from the University of Texas at Dallas, she packed her bags for Seattle in search of new adventures. And while the Pacific Northwest offered plenty of excitement, something was missing — the sunshine, the familiar comfort of home, and the closeness of family.
It didn’t take long for her to realize that Dallas wasn’t just where she grew up. It was where she belonged.
Finding Purpose Back Home
Returning to Dallas gave Ayissa the chance to reconnect with her roots and discover a path that felt meaningful. That path eventually led her to The Button Law Firm — a team centered on advocacy, compassion, and support for families, especially those with children who cannot speak for themselves.
Joining BLF felt like a natural fit.
“I wanted a role where I could make a difference for kids and families,” Ayissa says. “At BLF, I get to do that every day.”
Her values aligned effortlessly with the firm’s mission, creating a partnership built on shared purpose. Russell noticed that connection right away.
“From the start, Ayissa showed how much she cares about the people we help. She brings focus and heart to everything she does.”
Supporting Families With Care and Precision
As a paralegal, Ayissa works closely with Liliana and Cristina to guide cases from beginning to end. She ensures every detail is accounted for, every deadline is met, and every family is kept informed and supported throughout the process.
What she loves most is the human side of her work — building relationships, understanding each family’s unique circumstances, and helping them navigate moments that can feel overwhelming.
Ashley sees this same strength every day.
“She fits right into our culture of care. Families trust her because she listens and truly wants to help.”
For Ayissa, the most rewarding moments are the small ones: when a family gains clarity, feels reassured, or takes a step forward because she helped make the path a little easier. Her blend of professionalism and genuine compassion makes her an invaluable part of the BLF team.
Life Outside the Office
When she steps away from case files and client calls, you can often find Ayissa on the Jiu-Jitsu mats — a sport she took up after years of playful wrestling with her brother. The discipline and focus she brings to martial arts mirror the steady, grounded presence she brings to the firm.
Outside of training, she spends her time with family, friends, and her two dogs, soaking up simple joys like long walks, shared meals, and slow weekends surrounded by the people she loves.
A Journey That Shapes Her Work
From Dallas to Seattle and back again, every step of Ayissa’s journey has influenced how she shows up — with curiosity, empathy, and a drive to help others. Her dedication strengthens The Button Law Firm’s ability to support families during some of their toughest moments, ensuring they never feel alone.
Ayissa brings heart, talent, and a deep sense of purpose to everything she does — and BLF is stronger because she’s part of the team.
