BLF Team Attends TTLA Conference, Engages with Community of Advocates
Earlier this month, Russell, Ashley, Kaitlyn, and Rena attended the Texas Trial Lawyers Association (TTLA) Conference, Beyond the Obvious: Civil Cases You Shouldn't Overlook. The event brings together lawyers from across Texas to learn, connect, and share ideas about making a meaningful impact in people’s lives.
For our team, the conference was both inspiring and energizing. They enjoyed listening to a variety of presentations, hearing new perspectives, and meeting professionals who are committed to helping families and communities. The experience reminded our team why we do the work we do every day and reinforced the importance of learning and growing alongside others who share that commitment.
Russell Invited to Share Insights on Daycare Negligence Cases
One of the highlights of this year’s conference was seeing Russell recognized as a trusted voice in daycare negligence law. He was invited to speak about daycare and child injury cases, where he shared his insights on uncovering patterns of negligence in daycare facilities and how holding these institutions accountable can lead to safer standards across the state.
“Being asked to speak on this topic was an honor,” Russell said. “Daycare negligence cases are incredibly complex, and our team has spent years digging deep into how and why these preventable injuries happen. Every time we share what we’ve learned, we’re helping other lawyers better protect children in their communities — and that’s what it’s all about.”
Ashley added, “It was great to see Russell up there teaching and sharing what we’ve learned as a firm. These cases take a lot of heart, patience, and experience. Seeing him recognized by other trial lawyers for his knowledge and commitment to child safety made all of us proud.”
Russell’s presentation underscored The Button Law Firm’s reputation as a resource for attorneys seeking guidance on daycare injury and child safety cases. It also reflected our mission of educating others while continuing to fight for safer systems that protect the most vulnerable members of our communities.
Learning and Taking Ideas Back
The presentations throughout the conference covered a wide range of topics and offered practical takeaways that our team could apply in our own work. By breaking down complex ideas into clear, actionable insights, the sessions helped our team understand how thoughtful approaches can make a tangible difference for individuals facing challenging situations.
Attending these sessions also reflected our team’s ongoing commitment to education. Listening to stories, strategies, and experiences from a variety of speakers reinforced the importance of continuously learning and staying curious. Russell, Ashley, Rena, and Kaitlyn left with fresh ideas they can bring back to our work, helping BLF provide even better support and guidance for the families we serve.
Connecting with Others
Beyond the presentations, the conference offered valuable opportunities to connect with other professionals who are equally committed to making a difference. Through conversations and shared experiences, we were reminded of the power of collaboration and teamwork.
For Russell, Ashley, Kaitlyn, and Rena, these interactions reinforced the importance of working together as a team, supporting one another, sharing ideas, and building a network of people focused on positive impact. Meeting peers from different backgrounds and practices also highlighted that even when approaches differ, a shared dedication to helping others creates a strong and supportive community.
Seeing Values in Action
The conference also provided an opportunity to see BLF’s core values reflected in real-world work. The team saw the power of believing in better by striving for improvement in every aspect of their work. We witnessed the impact of keeping things simple by focusing on clear, practical strategies. We were reminded of the importance of education, both in learning from others and sharing knowledge. Most importantly, we saw the value of making a difference and working as a family and team, supporting one another while contributing to a larger sense of community.
Looking Ahead
The Button Law Firm team returned from the conference inspired and motivated. We brought back new ideas, renewed energy, and a deeper appreciation for collaboration, learning, and the impact on our community. For Russell, Ashley, Kaitlyn, and Rena, the experience reinforced that beyond legal work, the most important part of our mission is supporting people, listening to their stories, and working together to create meaningful change in the community.
