WFAA Features The Button Law Firm's Third Lawsuit
WFAA recently featured The Button Law Firm's third lawsuit against Kids 'R' Kids of Lawler Farm, bringing additional attention to another family seeking answers after their 3-year-old daughter was physically mistreated inside the Frisco daycare.
This family's story adds another piece to the mistreatment our team has uncovered through three lawsuits involving the daycare's 3-year-old classroom. As Russell Button explained during WFAA's coverage, every family that has come forward has shed more light on what was happening behind the scenes at this Kids ‘R’ Kids in Frisco.
A Teacher Became Her Daughter's Advocate
The little girl’s mother was also a teacher at Kids 'R' Kids of Lawler Farm, which gave her a unique perspective when concerns began surfacing about the treatment of children in the classroom. After learning about reports involving aggressive caregiver conduct, she reviewed the surveillance footage herself.
What she saw was devastating.
The lawsuit describes a caregiver yanking her daughter by the arm after she approached asking for help with her pencil. The caregiver then forced her into a chair, shoved her down multiple times, yelled inches from her face, and struck her on the leg. The child cried out for her mom, and the force used against her left bruising on her back.
After watching the footage, she reported what she witnessed directly to the daycare's owners. When the daycare failed to take meaningful action, she contacted Texas Health and Human Services to report the incidents herself.
One Child's Story Led to a Bigger Discovery
The surveillance video involving this little girl was not the end of the investigation of the mistreatment that happened in this three-year old classroom.
As WFAA reported, the state's investigation ultimately uncovered multiple videos showing caregivers using excessive physical force against children in the same classroom.
Our lawsuit details a pattern of caregivers pulling, yanking, shoving, hitting, throwing children into chairs, forcefully placing children onto nap mats, and using prohibited punishment methods. What initially appeared to be one family's experience grew into evidence involving multiple children, multiple caregivers, and repeated safety failures.
The Pattern Extended Beyond One Incident
This is the third lawsuit our team at The Button Law Firm has filed against Kids 'R' Kids of Lawler Farm.
Together, the lawsuits describe repeated reports of aggressive caregiver conduct, parents not being notified after children were harmed, reckless child endangerment not being reported as required, and opportunities to protect children that were missed.
The state investigation resulted in numerous citations against the daycare, including violations involving prohibited punishment, failures to protect children from abuse and neglect, failures to report situations that placed children at risk of harm, and failures involving supervision and caregiver responsibilities.
How The Button Law Firm Is Holding Kids 'R' Kids Accountable
This lawsuit was filed because daycare safety depends on more than one caregiver's actions. Daycare owners and leadership are responsible for creating a culture where children are protected, concerns are addressed immediately, and warning signs are never ignored.
At The Button Law Firm, we represent kids in daycare and child injury cases to help them get life-changing results and justice against bad daycares, schools, and companies that abuse and neglect the safety of children.
