The children were also punished with wall sits, according to records from Texas Health and Human Services’ childcare regulation division.”

What Went Wrong at This Dallas, Texas Daycare?

This daycare had a number of problems that led up to this event. The article states, “According to state records, the day care was found deficient of at least two child care licensing rules in an investigation into the incidents mentioned in the lawsuit, including corporal punishment and humiliating, rejecting or yelling at a child. Mandated training was held in response to the deficiencies, the records say.” The article goes on to say, “The lawsuit lists 12 other cases in which the facility was cited by the state from April 2019 through September, ranging from deficiencies in employee training to discipline methods.”

There was a pattern of inappropriate behavior, poor supervision, and an overall lack of care from the staff and the daycare’s directors. This ultimately led to a child suffering from a completely preventable injury.

How The Button Law Firm Plans to Hold Eastridge Academy Accountable

The Button Law Firm has filed a lawsuit on behalf of the mother, April Wallace, and her child after learning of these disturbing injuries and other damages. The recklessness the daycare displayed in hiring and keeping this irresponsible caregiver on staff, in addition to the lack of supervision by the director, led to this child suffering serious and life-altering injuries.
