I earned my undergraduate degree in Political Science and English from Austin College. More importantly, I met my wife while in college and also began working at a law firm every day after my classes. Both of those things changed my life forever. My wife and I have been together for 12 years (married for 4) and the attorney I worked for forever changed the trajectory of my professional career. Deep down I always knew I wanted to be an attorney but working for Mr. Hearrell opened my eyes to what the day to day routine of a working attorney looked like. I was hooked!
After graduation I took a position at an up and coming health and fitness radio program on iHeartRadio called One Life Radio. I started working there as a content developer, but my role soon evolved, and I eventually became a weekly on-air radio personality. It was a blast and I learned a ton but after a few years, the call to go to law school started getting too loud to ignore.
I chose to attend The University of Texas School of Law in Austin. While there, I was Administrative Editor of The Review of Litigation and a member of the Business Law Society. In 2016 I graduated from UT Law with honors. Throughout law school I worked at a number of different firms, ranging from very small practices to global mega-firms in a search to find my true passion: litigation. I just love it. Nothing beats the intensity of preparing for trial or trying a case. Nothing. After law school I accepted a position at a boutique litigation firm in Houston, where I worked for a few years until I met Russell and started at The Button Law Firm.
When my wife isn’t working as a teacher and I have time off as well, we love the outdoors. We both enjoy sport climbing and you’ll often find us in a climbing gym after work or at an outdoor crag on the weekends. It keeps us fit and we love the challenge. And you won’t catch us climbing outside without our trusty sidekick Charlie – our wonderful rescue terrier that’s been with us for the past 6 years and hopefully many many more to come!
